The manual and other materials that came with the laminator did not indicate that there is a screw that must be removed from the bottom of the laminator for it to function properly. Before learning about the screw, I believed that the button on the right used to open the laminator for cleaning was defective, and Amazon.com replaced the equipment as being defective for that reason.
